Why is it that 50% of your students get B3 you say? Because I have only 20 plus lessons with them. The group lesson students all started 1 week before their Sec 4 midyear exam. All except one failed their midyear. The one who passed just barely passed. Practically everyone got a B3 or better. Sure it is not excellent but surely it means my methods work reasonably well, doesn't it? I must admit if I had pushed harder, it would have been better.
The B4 dude have less than 20 lessons. His improvement was from what his school teacher deem to be sure fail... so I ain't ashamed of that B4. Not a miracle but pretty decent I would say.
Students who started in Sec 4 and who were failing in Sec 3 usually have acquired bad habits who have to be unlearned. With sufficent monitoring, it is not an issue. BUT when you have time for only a single lesson per topic... it is unlikely all the bad habits can be successfully remedied.
I said 80-90% of students who started in Sec 3 have A1 or A2 right? Actually it is closer to 100%, but once in a while, I have students who are unable to attain A1 or A2 due to whatever reasons...
